At Chabad Hebrew School of La Jolla, our curriculum is designed to be hands-on, joyful, and meaningful. We combine timeless Jewish values with creative, age-appropriate lessons that bring Judaism to life — so your child looks forward to coming every week.

🧒 Grades K–2: Jewish Beginnings

 

Tuesdays | 3:30–4:30 PM
Our youngest students explore Judaism through songs, stories, crafts, and play-based learning. Each lesson is filled with warmth and fun as we introduce:

  • Jewish holidays and symbols

  • Basic Hebrew letters and words

  • Mitzvot like kindness, tzedakah, and respect

  • Shabbat, Jewish values, and traditions

  • Hands-on holiday activities (sukkah building, challah baking, etc.)

🧠 Goal: Build Jewish joy, confidence, and a positive foundation.

 


 

📖 Grades 3–6: Deepening Roots

Wednesdays
Students take a deeper dive into Jewish life, learning in a fun, interactive environment that encourages questions, creativity, and connection.

  • Hebrew Reading using the Aleph Champ program (personalized learning tracks)

  • Torah stories and Jewish history

  • Mitzvot and moral values

  • Holiday themes and customs

  • Israel and Jewish identity

  • Introduction to prayer and blessings

🎯 Goal: Give students tools to understand and live their Judaism with pride.

 


 

🕍 Bar/Bat Mitzvah Experience (Ages 11–13)

Bat Mitzvah Club: Select Sundays


Our Bar & Bat Mitzvah programs goes beyond memorizing prayers. We focus on meaning, connection, and identity as students prepare for this important milestone.

  • One-on-one Bar Mitzvah prep: Torah reading, tefillin, prayers, and personal growth

  • Bat Mitzvah Club: Social, inspiring, and empowering — exploring Jewish womanhood, values, and leadership

  • Understanding the responsibility and beauty of becoming a Jewish adult

🌟 Goal: Help students become confident, proud, and prepared Jewish teens.
